  • I'M ON IT

Given that much of the population of Spaceship Earth is more worried about "dog mess" and graffiti than global warming, 'Ipsos Mori's head of environmental research, Phil Downing, said the research showed there was "still a lot to do" in encouraging "low-carbon lifestyles".'

Hey, isn't worrying about dog mess evidence of a low-carbon lifestyle?

  • What on earth is a "low-carbon lifestyle"?  And why does this schmuck expect carbon-based life forms to practice a low-carbon lifestyle - whatever it is - anyway?  Isn't that some sort of contradiction in terms?

  • I dunno; isn't there a lot of carbon in dog mess?

  • In answer to Mornar's question above, a "low-carbon lifestyle" is the phrase referring to a personal effort to conserve limited natural resources- namely carbon fuels- and limit air and water pollution.  Granted, some environmentalists have taken this idea to a point of absurdity.  However, we as God's people are commanded to care for this earth, so let's try to lighten our "carbon footprints."

  • I absolutely agree with Sugarpinebackpacker. Let's lighten our carbon footprint and increase our nuclear footprint. Nuclear power is vastly more efficient, clean, safe, and available than fossil fuels.

  • Is that anything like a low-carb lifestyle?

  • Kind of an Atkins diet for the planet, I guess.
